DEFENDER TD5 AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR
The air conditioning stopped working. Checked all fuses though nothing blown. Then decided to check under bonnet and check connection etc. Well you wouldn't believe it, I found jammed up under the plastic radiator skirt the front maganetic hub off the front of the compressor. No damage to fan or anything, could of shot off anywhere.:o
My question, given bolt has gone, can anyone advise me if there is a spring missing, limited knowledge suggests a magnetic clutch therefore must be able to release when turned off at cabin switch.
As a temporary fix I found a stud and secured the font inner hub thing. Not real tight. Air con now working.:)
Though expect air conditioning will be on always. Will this be a problem until I can resolve.
