Well I just purchased "Allianz - Extended New Vehicle Warranty" 3 years/60,000kms for $2331:17.
I hope never to have to use it of course but at approx $2 a day it's a small price to pay for the peace of mind.
Still lovin' driving my D3. :D

I did the same thing when I purchased my new D90 earlier this year. Like you, it was a peace of mind thing primarily.

Cheers

I swore off Land Rovers after my Freelander 1.8...
- 3 unexplained "unable to start" in first 2 years, needed to tow
- 27,500kms @ 25 months (ie 1 month out of factory warranty) = New Head Gasket, fortunately known issue and replaced and paid for by Land Rover
- 37,500kms @ 38 months (ie 1 year later) = New ENGINE because of slipped cylinder sleeve. Engine paid for by LR. Downstream problem of replacement of entire heater matrix paid for by me... :( $5000!
Why is this so?!?!? Mitsubishi gives 10 years warranty on powertrain. Even Kia can give a 5 year factory warranty.
I would NEVER buy a LR without some form of extended warranty. It was only because I found out about extended warranties that I even considered the D4.
By the way, apparently there is now a 4 year aftermarket extension product from Allianz, but I am not sure if LR is included.

If you are considering this product you better get it soon as the person I dealt with said Allianz may be dropping LR from their vehicles list due to the high cost of warranty claims. Glad I got mine in time.

I just finalized mine to today on the D4. Piece of mind but also since it is transferable with private sales, I felt it would be a good selling point if I upgrade in 3 years when the finance is up.

If you're financing the vehicle and package it in it's even more worth it. I think mine came to $1650 out of pocket after a 4 year lease. (Of course depends on the number of km's/year, tax bracket etc)

I have been quoted about $3500 for my extended Allianz warranty for my D3 from a L/R dealer for 3 years once the current warranty expires at the end of this year. Does anyone know if this a a fair price, or can you go direct to Allianz, options etc. worth doing etc. Help?:o

themalinators - to save retyping all of it here, do a quick search on the forum for "Meaghan Roulston" and/or "Luke Teys" and you should be able to find a price around $2500.
