Is changing the injectors on a TD5 a feasible job to do at the home workshop or a take to a mechanic type job?? I have reasonable mechanical skills. Is anything more needed than a good basic tool kit and a torque wrench?

They can be done at home given your skills.
The hard bit is "lifting" them out of the head..special tool xyz;)
See the head removal threads in THE GOOD OIL:D
Shows the injectors being removed.

Search Tecnical section also.

Also you need to keep them in order as they are set via a nanocom to the engine computer.

You can do it..

Whilst in there you'll need the new (genuine) copper washers and o'rings for the injectors.

Also a good idea to change the injector loom..

And a new cover gasket is a nice idea.

Torque wrench, sockets, spanners and patience is all thats required.

the old special brake adjusting tool for doing the star wheels on some drum brakes is quite usefull for getting the injectors out but you do need to reshape the tip a little.

another 4 weeks of spanner spinning and general RAAFing about.

lots of dead bushmaster rubber but then that was to be expected.

Phoned dad to let him know that all was ok and happy birthday and got to talking asked him if hed like to guess at the most prelevent problems with the vehicles in area and he nailed it as flat tyres and clogged radiators.

19+ bush master tyres are technical write offs (XX but with the temp plugs in them they'd pass for battleworthy) and thats at $2k+ per tyre + fitting.
