Don't sell the Disco.
Buy a crappy looking 110 to do up as a bush beast.
Remember, too many Landrovers is never enough.

to make sure her shopping trolley isnt blocking access for the Rover and to greet you with a beer, a loving smile and to take your boots off after a hard day at work.......

The bottom line is you simply do not deserve to own a Land Rover.:(
Sell the Disco, give the 110 a miss and hope to God that your long suffering wife does not leave you and move in with a bloke who owns a Range Rover.:(
Fancy yelling at us whether you should take the opportunity of owning a Classic, a personification of "heritage", a statement of individualism and freedom.:o

Sell the Disco, to buy the Defender.
Sell the bike, because it increases the risk of injuries that may prevent you driving your Defender. Use that money to accessorise your Defender.
Sell the camper and learn to travel a bit lighter, that way you can get to more places where only a Defender can take you.
It's not about having the most toys, it's about having the Best Toy.

a word of warning oyamum, defender owners are the died in the wool one eyed creatures so be careful. Apparently if you have to ask if you should buy a 110 or a defender over any other green oval (there are differences in the 2 apparently) then you dont deserve one.....or so I was once told here :angel::angel:
consider yourself warned :angel::angel::angel:
I reckon stick with the disco....okay, hit me guys :twisted::p

Funny that no one has mentioned that disco's are worth **** even if ya decked it out with all the great fruit you can. i mean the man did ask for some rough prices so he know where he stands, but like i said they are worth diddley squat sorry to say. how i know this is that after a engine rebuild, majority of the engine parts replaced, lift, bar, lights, uhf, rack, basket, highliftjack plus holder, shovel plus holder, gauges, boosted this and tweaked that, bfg at's,cargo barrier, more lights, and **** loads more hell i'll throw the wife in as well and all for about 2,500 if i'm lucky lol.
Mind you reckon from that 2500 the wife would cost about 1900...lol so dude i reckon just keep the bloody thing and have some fun with it and when moneys gets better or you do decide to get rid of some of the other fun stuff then go out and get a defer, all cars/trucks loose value in time so theres no rush.

Thanx for the replies guys iv been talkin it over with the mrs and I think we have come up with the same idea as discovery300tdi said as discos are worth sweet f a I'm gonna keep it as it owes me less than $2500 so I don't stress over it if I damage where ad something worth more il be more paranoid about damage and in turn I think would be less fun... So I'm sticking with the old banga thanx for the opinions guys

Yeah good call buddy. Now I won't be the only old oiler running round wezza!! Lol
have fun with it, keep it do her up and they do become a weapon out there in the bush if set up right. Thinkin those defers (while they look great and perform well) they are a heavier bloody rig and would cost more to setup in the long run compared to our bangas. Lol

Hehehe! Tallying up the list so far, I've spent about $4.5k and got another $2.5k to go (tyres and suspension). I'll finish doing up the Disco (haven't got much left on the list), keep it, and build up a Defender on the side...best of both worlds! :D

Its all peanuts really, this 120" I'm building that served well at the 5.5k I bought it for, for a few years, I think will stretch to 20+k this rebuild:eek:, not including purchase

And will out last/ out do any new rivals:D Likely have no major dealer warranty issues. Simple to repair when needed:) Thats a small price when most of the perishables are new;)

It was either that or a 79 series, 1HD-FTE, but I think that would of been in the 70k region with the same mods:eek:

LOL, I know what you mean mate! I've pumped decent coin into the Disco to suit my needs, not resale (hence the logic behind keeping it). The Defender will be a bare-chassis build, so I cringe thinking about the costs...well worth it for entertainment and keeping me out of mischief though. Good thing there's no missus dictating matters though! :p

I recently upgraded from a 97 Disco to a 00 Defender. I couldnt bare to part with my Disco as it is the first 4wd I ever owned. The Disco is now sitting in the driveway unregistered but I hope to get it back on the road some day soon.
The funny thing is that my Mrs loves the Disco and misses driving it more than I do.
