What is tapatalk?

Dave.
Forum app for the iPhone. Removes the need to go thru web browser.
Pretty cool as if you are a member of multiple forums all Tapatalk compatible, you can have them all together and switch quickly between them.
Just do a search in the app store or if you have an iPhone, login using Safari web browser and you should get a popup which will take you right to it.
You don't get a lot of the functionality of the web browser, but much quicker when you don't need all the ads etc or just want to drop a quick post.
Aparently can upload pics from it too which is something you can't do using Safari!!

Depends if you get a cap plan or not. Telstra dont do cap plans for iPhones but there are plenty of good deals from Vodafone, Optus etc.

I get 500MB d/load and $500 calls for about $70 a month and I haven't used my d/load quota up yet, although I have come close.

The bills are mainly from email setups with "push notifications" searching for email every minute or however long you set it. This is what eats it up.

I can't get on using Tapatalk for Blackberry either - different error message but assuming it revolves around the same problem.

Guess we just wait till Inc has the chance to look into it when he gets the time, I'm sure I can wait patiently.

I WANT MY TAPATALK BACK!!!
Sent them a Not Happy Jan email today....

EDIT- might have to take the Not Happy Jan back....
Just went in and browsed a few other accounts they list and all of them worked fine.
Probs almost definitel. At your end Dave.... Hate to say it....
Couldn't find AULRO, Australian Land Rover or Australian Landrover etc etc etc in the search page.

was fine till i fitted their latest update downloaded from their site..

followed their instructions 3 times and still the same result...

better things to waste my time on then chasing my tail on something that was working till they upgraded it...

I got a reply to my Not Happy Jan from them.
Told them to get in contact with you via the website....

Just did a cache flush on yhe iPhone and the splash message still comes up re iPhone native forum when you open the homepage.....

Must be something simple as the D2au forum works fine albeit different forum software. Just need some decent content on it....

We love you Dave, we have faith in your abilities. Please bring back tapatalk.... Consider it an I.T. equivalent of a Landy.... OK, maybe that's not a good analogy...

Cheers

still haven't quite worked out what tapa talk is all about..even with someones intiall explanation early on..although i'm intrigued as soo many seem to love it. I did look it up a whil ago but was reluctant to buy it as I didn't really understand what it does

It's just an iPhone app that let's you access web forums. It formats the posts in a more iPhone friendly manner.

Why not give the trial version a shot before you commit to the full?

dullbird
30th July 2010, 12:24 AM
just dont see what benefit you have over using the safari browser which is what I do on my itouch to look at aulro.

Edit: I didn't notice a trial version maybe I will have a look

hoadie72
30th July 2010, 12:30 AM
Honestly, I have found it crashes a lot but more recent updates have made it more reliable.

The benefit for me is that it's faster than safari on the iPhone or iPod touch, especially when reading lots of threads. And the way it presents new posts to you is neat.

Outlaw

Yep much more user friendly than using safari Dullbird. Just no good for smilies :)

Try the trial first and go from there.
