Not So Happy Birthday

Thanks to AULRO for the email Best Wishes for my birthday.
Unfortunately it was not so happy for me.

"Her" car, the one I paid for but she drives (99 Disco TD5 auto) decided to drop reverse gear yesterday.Bugger!https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2013/08/1312.jpg
A person who knows all about Landrovers here in WA tells me that a full auto rebuild is the only option.
So my Disco is on it's way to Bentley to be revitalised while we are away for a week or so..

On a brighter note, the other vehicle in the household, my '81 Series 3 trayback is running better than ever since the cooler weather came in. It's much more pleasant to drive too, floorplates don't get as hot.https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2015/12/13.jpg

Hi All,
"Her" Disco TD5 is back on the road following a total auto box blow-up.
To fix it right up the following was done.
Auto box rebuild, XYZ switch, new viscous fan, new water pump, modded oil cooler, modded front driveshaft, full service, oilpump bolt checked and tightened and a few other minor things.

Drove it back to Denmark today.
Totally different vehicle. :)............Thanks to Kevin and his crew.
I guess we'll have to keep it for a few more years.
