Hi Guys
I am looking for a mounting point for a 1kg dry powder fire extinguisher in the Puma.
I have used the foot well in previous vehicles, but this doesn’t really seem to be an option in the Puma.
Any thoughts much appreciated.
Cheers

Mine is mounted at window height on the rear side of a milford cargo barrier right beside the drivers side rear window. I can easily reach through the rear window and pluck it from the holder. Best place for it that I have found... if you have a barrier installed. Hope this helps.

Mines fixed to the rear door (well, the lining any way):

Thanks for reply. I have a mesh (material) cargo net so mounting extinguisher there is not really an option.
The rear door option looks good.
Did you use self tapping screws or did you remove the trim and fasten with nut and bolt?

I removed the rear trim and used roundheaded screws, lock nuts and large diameter washers.

Sorry a little off topic Mahn who is your draw made buy? and are you fitting a cargo carrier.
we are hoping to finally put the draw in ours in July or around then but thinking of having the department of interior make it as we have a cargo barrier in already

Hi Lou,
Mine is an Outback unit, and I'm very pleased with it. I had a look at the Dept of the Interior one.
The cargo barrier is on the list but further down than a couple of other things so I'm not sure whether the known cargo barriers will fit.

Still off topic - sorry.
BlackWidow make a half barrier to suit d'fers. Should sit on top of your drawes.

I am hastening slowly to a cargo barrier because I like to be able to extend the cargo space on the spur of the moment by tipping the rear seats forward.
Having the cargo barrier restricts this.. I know the safety benefits. I had a Milford in the Disco...but a well stowed rear deals with this to some extent. The Puma's high rear seats afford some protection providing that you don't stack stuff too high.
The drawer unit has improved the stowability in the Defender.

Re the barrier, I have a cargo net from BOAB.
I like the versatility the net gives us.
I can quickly remove if I need the full load space, move between 1st row and 2nd row seats, etc.
The only problem I had was I had to weld up some brackets (to fit under the grab rails) to raise the net height enough to be an 'effective' barrier.

Anyone got an update on this? I have been thinking about mounting to the tubular bracing behind the front seats of my 90, but can't find a decent bracket.
keen to see what other have done and am hoping to avoid drilling holes in anything.
Cheers, Dan

Search for "Tube mount" on eBay. Heaps of various clamps for various size tube.
For some ghetto-fab action, don't underestimate insertion rubber and jubilee clamps
