G'day All,

I'm just wondering if any of you have roof consoles fitted to your Defenders and, if so, which is the best unit on the market to go for?

I bought mine from the place at carlton in Sydney.
They will build you one with just about any variation you require.

That looks good too. Mine may have to be tailer made as I have the extended cab. That may be my best shot. Thanks.:)

Sorry to be a pain Dullbird but what sort of seat covers do you have. They look alright as well from what I could see.

I've got to pull my head in. I'll line myself up to spend way too much cash!!

Thanks again Dullbird. I have priced them before with a bit of a shock although, from your photo, they look like they might be worth it.

You can always make your own. It's not that hard, & save a lot of $$$.:D

That's the go! They don't take up any cabin space. Certainly worth a look. Thanks Reads 90.

Yeah that is what i like them for.
My 110 when i got it have one of those roof consol that fit along the top of the windscreen . First thing i did was rip that out. The front screen on a defender is small enough with out putting somthing like that to reduce the size even more

I've got a Department of Interior (Carlton NSW) center roof console. They are held in by three course (wood) screws. The screws locate in the front and rear roof rib.

While travelling in the outback over the famous corrugations the back screws loosened? I don’t like the “screw” style fixing. I’ve now used lock-tight and that seems to be holding.

:)They are however very well made and can be modified to suit.:)

Slightly OTT, but the Melvill & Moon covers are from SA (South Africa, not that SA..) see www.mevlillandmoon.com (http://www.mevlillandmoon.com).

They're great quality but not cheap, maybe there's a business opportunity for someone in Aus?

yes most people know that Melvin and Moon are south African.. A few of us tried contacting direct and they were bloody useless....Hence why mine came from the UK a the dollar was fairly strong.
However Note not as strong as it is now so would come up even cheaper....
Perhaps there is a business opportunity for some one in South Africa to provide good customer service :p:D

Has anyoneactually fitted the equipe4x4 roof console?
I don't have any real dramas about cutting into the roof console (which I think will allow better access to the rear rib), but all this talk about cutting into the rear rib is a bit concerning!!!
Has anyone done any research into a place that sells this console at a "reasonable" rate?
