Why do lr have the 110 & 130 in a single cab wouldn't it be better to have the long wheel base or has the 110 got an advantage I am unaware of ? Can't the 130 carry more? The placement of wheels on the 110 may look more in proportion so is it a looks thing ?
Or is it because 130's have weak chassis that can crack ?
Why would you buy one over the other and vice versa ?

the 110 has some advantages offroad and in city work over the 130 which turns and has a rampover much like a barge.
the 110 can be sprung up to give the same max load as a 130 if you need it but you generally dont need it.
the 130 has more tray space in the single cab version.

Same reason lots of other manufacturers offer utes with two (or more) different wheelbases. As Dave says - some buyers need (or want) the better maneuverability, others want (or need) the bigger load area. I would be very surprised if many buyers considered either the looks or the chassis cracking.

Im looking for a 110 as I want to use it as a base for a hardcore touring truck and the wheel bqse suits that application better. If I was looking for a CC for my business I would go with the 130 as the extra tray lengthg would be an advantage.

Hi,
I was looking for a ute that would carry a slide-on camper with a 2550mm base and not hang out the back like a Yanktank.
The Nissan Patrol, Toyota Landcruiser were both on the limits, and Hylux, Triton, Isuzu, Bravo, etc were summarily dismissed with quick check of their dimensions.
The D130 came in with a good 40cm in reserve of the 60% of wheelbase behind the rear axle rule.
Problem solved, it was the only vehicle I could find that would give me the specs I wanted without going to a small 4wd truck.
First problem I had with it was in South Melbourne trying to get around some of the miniature roundabouts near the Ferry terminal while looking for a spot to wait for boarding time, The turning circle is not tight, but hey, it drives straight over roundabouts and kerbs with little fuss, and if you need to do a 7 point turn, who is going to hassle a Defender?
cheers

There is a reaol reason for the 110 crew cab
In the Uk company car tax is very expensive and the tax man charges the person who drives the car the tax and not the Company . I had a Passat company car in the Uk and it cost me $150 a week in company car tax and i did 80,00 K's a year in it .
But there is a loop hole. If a vechile can carry 1 ton of earth or anything like that in the back then it is a commercial vechile and therefore has a charge of $100 a year company car tax to the driver .
This mean't the sale of the Crew Cab hI lux, Nivara, BT 50 all went though the roof . And land rover wanted so of this action so bought out the Crew Cab 110
And that is pretty much the only reason land Rover stated doing them at first. They still do them beacuse alot of peole like them

Hi All
If the 130 is too large for some applications and the 110 is too small does that make the 120 just right:):D and the isuzu is just a bonus on top of that
