It's not the only one to die JC

There was on up here in Launceston that was burnt out when a building nearby went up in flames :(

Owner must be gutted, what can you do when that happens? its not like your going to get a replacement SVX....

Good for all the other SVX owners though, that's 2 down from the 82 here :lol2: if it keeps up they will become even rarer in Australia

If the owner was smart, they'd probably be jumping for joy at a $70k payout:D:D.

I have no soul:(

I've just never understood people's bonds with cars. They don't love you back. All these emotions for a machine?

When I bought my sister's commodore the owner cried, it's a cruddy 1992 VP Commodore worth nothing...

For a lot of people the car could be a link to fond memories..like trips or proposing to your wife, you and your dad working on it and your dad has now sadly passed that sort of thing...

I guess to lose the link may install worry into someone that think they may forget all those fond memories..

Just a guess though:D

with a '92 Commodore you may have an argument...... but with a Land Rover I can't quite believe that I would read words like:

from a Land Rover owner. LR's have soul..... I have owned 4 in my time, and had to part with 3 them. I miss their character, their quirks, their problems....... their soul. It is possible to bond with a machine, and I believe that they (the machines) give back what they get..... Love my Landy...... and she loves me back! :D

Thing is, and LR owners love to dispute it, but Toyota owners have the same "bond" too. I grew up in a Land Cruiser family (god that sounded gay) and they aren't at all boring soulless appliances, you experience the same satisfaction in its capabilities. Rovers really don't have anything that other brands of cars cannot give, except perhaps a cult following.

FWIW I don't miss my last Disco one bit, never have, but I think that is perhaps because it was the means to an upgrade, which I'd already bought. I wouldn't like to sell my current D1 knowing that the replacing was a 2wd, or something that wouldn't do everything I need [want] a car to do.

I love my Rangie but it seems to give me nothing but pain in return.
I think this is a genuine love hate relationship
I love the Rangie but the Rangie hates me :(
