I just went through an old photo album, and decided to take snaps of a few pics in case anyone was interested.
My IIA when it was still freshly painted and shiny (LROCB training day).

Thanks guys.
It would be interesting if anyone can spot their landie in any of the pics??? I know that 123rover50's FC is in the back of the 4th pic.
I suspect some of the x-mil landies must belong to people on here?
Any idea who the very tidy 107/109" series 1's belong to?

I am pretty sure the closest Game in the group shot at Mt. Gravatt would be mine, it was owned by John Todhunter then.
Cheers, Mick.

I was wrong (again), our Game wasn't at that event. Sorry for the misleading info.

There appear to be two Games in the pic. I know that one belongs to Tracy Kruger. Not sure about the other.

Dad's IIA was recently sold to Killer. Who will look after it better than dad did I am sure :D
About the only pic I have of it is this one:

Though I think I may have some pics of it a Bellthorpe SF somewhere - though probably in a box of prints rather than an album - so may take some digging out.

Body and chassis designed and built by Mal. Body is brushed ally and stainless.
Has hydraulic steering on rear wheels.
Started life with V8+C4+3-range series t-case (again Mal's mods)+ENV axles with Mal's (Maxi-Drive) lockers.
As pictured there it has a 300Tdi(+ZF?)+LT230.
I believe it now runs MD portals - Serg(uninformed) has seen it more recently than anyone else.

ROVA aka the sidewinder AFAIK.......and its only going from my memory:
started life on the drawing board as a long door mid wheel base LR with leaf springs. But by the time it got to construction the RR had been released and Mal wanted coils. He first used S11a axles that he modded and had the rear steer on from the begining...infact he had rear steer on other vehicles before ROVA, going back to his first rear steer which was an 80 inch series 1. The first motor/s were the Holden 253 v8 and I believe with a C4 auto and his custom built 3 speed transfer case (which is now in good hands with a Aulro memeber) He went to env (after breaking alot of stuff in the rear) with his own made swivel balls that house 101cvs in series knuckles. The first incarnation of this car, as it was running series track width coils, actually had the coils let into the chassis (from the side) When he increased the track and went with coil rover axles, it now runs the coils in the standard postion. The chassis is made from RHS, the front suspension is stock RRC radius arms etc, the rear started as a 3 link + panhard, but got changed out due to excessive bump steer. It now runs a Aframe rear like the rover, but with Mals own Aframe and RHS rear trailing arms. Its current engine is a 3.9v8 with dual carbs (stock RR) I think the gearbox is an lt85 and the transfer is a R380 with MD49% low range (pretty sure these are the prototype set). It has still the original tomas pto winch, running of a MD pto. Mal made all the body pannels himself, the doors have wind up windows AND removable tops, the hardtop roof is fully removable.
This vehicle has been the test bed for many MD products and has proven its worth since the day it was built. It was recently brought out of retirement (farm life) and re road registured as seen in the photo that Ben posted.
This vehicle has never had portals, that is another Kustom Mal Story work vehicle ;)
