Taree?
Where are you fishing on river?
I caught a mix of mostly bream ,flathead, trevally and a couple of small jew on 1/0 hooks (get the red ones) and prawns (frozen, can't beat em) last weekend- a few k's upstream from mouth in Richmond River(Ballina)- deep holes on low after dawn

Baz - depends where you are fishing. If you are fishing further upriver then definitely bass and some good lures, softplastics or hard bodies as well as surface lures, should do the trick.
If further down towards Taree then I would be targetting bream, again softplastics would work well. As for bait and which hook, have no idea I was always a lure man.
Edit: Just remembered where you are off to this weekend. Definitely Bass country.

Thanks all, very helpful.
Earvin, you are obviously trolling other forums;)
I'll try bait first as the rod is setup this way, but will change to lures, might even take 2 rods.
Thanks, Baz.
