I had a look at the latest Bill Henson exhibition yesterday:

Bill Henson - Bill Henson, 2010 - Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery (http://www.roslynoxley9.com.au/artists/18/Bill_Henson/1222/)

And NO it is not likely to cause a controversy.

I was impressed by his use of light and dark...very moody. The prints were large and very grainy.

I'd have one of his architectural ones (No. 28) on the wall at home if $30,000 wasn't an obstacle. You'd be surprised how many were sold.

I really like Bill Henson's work. He goes for the dark, moody atmosphere which for me brings emotions of loneliness. One of my favourites is a photo of a solitary street lamp lighting up what looks like a telephone box in a densely tree lined street on a very dark night. I'd love a big print of that hanging on my wall.

Bill Henson is a true master.

He pretty much Invented the low key light style that is now almost a cliche. A few years ago I saw some of his landscapes at the AGoNSW and it was truly moving.

If you can, make an effort to see them in the flesh - You can't do justice to the scale and presence on the internet.

EDIT: It was these ones:

They were very large prints. I had known about Bill Henson before, but had only seen (and loved) his work in books. I was totally taken back by the exhibition.
