One wonders if the L/Rover advertising gurus are related to the build quality troops at L/rover.
The full page advert on the back of the latest Outback Magazine shows the nine Defender models (now including the 90 series). Reading the glowing features of the toughness of these models says "The six speed auto transmission is designed for heavy duty applications".
What a bunch of dills. :bangin:

That's because the Range Rovers they drive only come in an auto. Probably don't know what a Defender is.

Sadly, oh so sadly, truer words have never been said.:(
I rung the local Land Rover Dealer regarding the purchase of a new Defender:
The salesman's reply: I'm sorry the Defender is no longer made, it is now called the Discovery.
Barra1: The Defender is made, I don't want a Discovery - now can you give me an on-the-road-price - no trade.
Salesman: Sir (Yep, sir for the old Barra1) as I said it is a Discovery that you want.
Barra1: See ya.
Children fit the electrics in a Land Rover and twits sell them:(

Kenny at Trivetts still emails me to ask how mine is going. We catch up when it's in for a service.

I went into the show room past the Jags, the Peugeots and the RRs. I went up to his desk. He asked if he could help. I said I wanted to order a Defender.

He was a little taken aback...having regained his composure and without prompting he drove me to the holding shed in the back lots and showed me a Defender..I'd already made up my mind.

I'm getting the same service from Southern in Perth. About 10 calls prior to delivery " just keeping me informed of progress" 3 calls in the 8 weeks since delivery and a couple of e-mails checking that I'm still happy and all's ok.

Same deal though, I was almost selling it to the sales person as I obviously knew 200% more about the Puma than they did. Still good service though. Well see how it goes with my first contact with the Service Department on the 9th June...

Anyone seen the add for the 90 on the back of the 4x4 mags? Someone photoshoped a 90 onto a mountain peak with some catchy slogan. You need a magnifying glass to see the 90 though...
