Today was a Tool day (driving a fancy car with a stereo), listening to Ænima and Undertow. Almost as good as the din of raw, unbridled 2.25 power that I usually have as company..

What's a CD player? :p lol My Defender lacks any sort of music playback ability - something that will be rectified after soundproofing is installed!
But, currently playing on my iPod (with noise-proof headphones when I'm driving!) are The Idea of North and David Crowder Band.

Who used cd's anymore? The isuzu county has half a dozen 4gig USB sticks full of all sorts of mp3 goodness. I just plug in the one full of the type of music I want to listen to and away I go. I'm pretty sure the stereo is the most advanced/computerised part of the whole car :)

Toast.....
I got kids!!!
but when its cleared again....
I normally listen to cold chisel, slim dusty, adam brand, eagles, robbie williams and a couple of home made compilation discs....
one upside to this is, my 4 year old loves and constantly requests and sings "bye bye miss america pie", and from that disc all three kids, sing, "monster mash" (the first one), hallelujah (by KD Lang), Mr Bojangles (sammy davis Jnr), Mack the knife (ella fitzgerald), Wonderful world (Israel ...ewrrr long alphabet name!) that ends wonderful world after starting somewhere over the rainbow....
and they sing (almost yell) "happy together" (? turtles ?) and a few others!
Oh and like above the most heard verse in the car is "recalculating" by "australian english sue"....

Who used cd's anymore? The isuzu county has half a dozen 4gig USB sticks full of all sorts of mp3 goodness.
the people who value sound quality still use CD's, any compression format will bring on a loss in quality, and the lower the bitrate, the worse it sounds
while i have ~950 MP3's, there are less than 100 under 192kb/s and less than 20 under 128kb/s, and all of the lower bitrate stuff is there only because i cant find better quality examples
fwiw, all the CD's in my current playlist are original copies, not burnt

I'm listening to the new re-mastered Exile On Main Street. It sounds fantastic but as it is with these re-workings you lose as well as gain.

And you're worried about sound quality in a Landrover? Why:p
It's not a lounge room with no background noise around.:D

A lot of everything with particular attention to Fleetwood Mac, Meatloaf, The Who and Bruce Springstein.
All Midnight Oil has been removed from my music collection after their singer made his move into politics.

........
Yes, but some of us drive real Landrovers, and the loss of fidelity is hardly noticeable given the background noise and the loss of hearing resulting from driving one for fifty years!
Having said that, I now have a CD player in one of my cars (the County) so today's trip into town was the first opportunity to listen to it. For this purpose I have in it a CD containing, in, yes, MP3 format :-
Beethoven Symphony No 9 (Choral) (LSO)
Beethoven Violin Concerto Op61 (Heifetz)
Bach Brandenberg Concertos 1,2,3 (Berlin CO)
I actually listened to the local radio on the way into town and round town, and the Choral Symphony lasted all the way home.
