They are evacuating people in St Marys Pass one of my stops when I have my motorhome.
Weater is going bongos there :eek:
St Helen is one of the places that we are considering to move in the future.:(

Not sure about Tassie, but I just come back from fishing the North Kimberley coast and it rained every day we were there..Spoke to a couple of chopper pilots and they reckon the Gibb river road is closed as a few of the creeks are flowing..there some people stuck in Kalumbaru and surrounding area's

HEAVY RAIN, DAMAGING WIND AND DAMAGING SURF EXPECTED ALONG PARTS OF THE SOUTHERN NSW COAST ON SUNDAY
On Sunday a low pressure system is expected to develop off the southern half of the NSW coast and deepen rapidly. At this stage, the system, with its associated heavy rain and damaging winds and seas, is expected to affect the South Coast on Sunday morning, then track northwards to the Illawarra during the day, possibly affecting Sydney and the Central Coast later in the day or overnight into Monday. It is too early to predict the precise location of the heaviest rainfall and highest wind and seas, as this will depend on the eventual position and movement of the centre of the low. This warning will be updated regularly as the weather system develops.
Winds are expected to average over 65 km/h on Sunday on the South Coast and Illawarra, with peak wind gusts exceeding 90 km/h.
Very heavy rain is expected to cause flash flooding in these districts. Damaging surf conditions, with waves exceeding 5 metres in the surf zone, may produce significant beach erosion. Water levels above the highest astronomical tide of the year are possible.
Emergency services advise you to keep clear of fallen power lines, stay indoors away from windows and keep children indoors.
Emergency services advise do not enter flood water. Stay well clear of creeks, storm drains and causeways.
Emergency services advise you check your property regularly for erosion or inundation by sea water, and if necessary, raise goods and electrical items.
Surf Life Saving Australia recommends that you stay out of the water and stay well away from surf-exposed areas.

I'm at Scamander between St Helens and St Marys. Our barman is spending the night here as he can't get home to St Marys. His missus rang to say that the drip when he left for work in the their lounge room ceiling has now turned into a full blown collapsed ceiling.:o

A couple of semi drivers holed up here for the night told me that they saw cars floating on the side of the road as they were heading out of St Marys down the Elephant Pass.

Strange thing is we've only had light rain down here on the coast, albeit with lots of wind.

75 mls is enough to make the creek flood without doing to muc damage we have had about 30 mls in the last week so we dont reely want any more then that but im happy to see heaps of rain we only have 2 creek fences to fix

What Bushie said... your units are an issue. There is a big difference between 75mls and 75mm. if I recall 75mls is not much more than a third of a cup, where as 75mm of rain may well bring the creek up... ;)

75ml of rain is a little less than 4 tablespoons of water and probably wouldn't dampen the bottom of the rain gauge.

75mm falling over 1 hectare represents 750,000 litres of water that has to go somewhere.

So there is a small difference.
