View Full Version : Got a new Dog

I was walking past the pet shop in Sarina on my way to the bank.
I heard a small voice call out "Hey Bod ".
Just inside the door was this fat lump of fluff standing up in an
enclosure wagging it's tail, so I lifted her out of the cage.
Anyhow, she latched onto me sock and folled me home.
She is a two in one, cross blue heeler - kelpie and is six weeks and five days old.
She responds well to "Hey Dog " so I can probably assume that that is
her name ?
Was 15 dollars too much to pay ?
Cheers.
Robert.

Robert, how you can put a value to a new friend which will give you and your family unconditional love for the term of her natural life?
She is cute and the way to you or her selected the new friend it is the best.
Congratulations, now stop at the Salvos and get 20 pairs of old shoes for her to play :D

G'day Olbod :)
Congratulations :) on getting a nice looking pup, but it looks very like a Black & White Tri-colour Border Collie pup ;) Black-White-Tan :D should give you love and affection for about 15 years=$1 a year
Nice markings too, as we are Border Collie Breeders ;) (chocolate) and a pedigree tri-colour Border pup would set you back about $800.
cheers

Not really but time will tell.
This is the first dog I have ever owned.
Betty had a Maltese Terrior that I couldn't stand ( we had to to have it put down when it developed a brain lesion ).
During that time I used to think that the best dog was one on the back of a ute going in the opposite directio to me !!
But already I am getting used to being rounded up by this one. Glad we dont have a stockyard.
Cheers.

We have had a few dogs over the years and they are part of the family, and when they eventually depart this world, it is as if your best friend has died, it can be very upsetting!!! Anyrate mate, enjoy the mateship, you'll find they ask for nothing except your love and attention!!:)

she will be a great dog i'm sure, shame you bought it from a pet shop though.
lets hope they ban pet shops from selling dogs soon eh.
Its great to have a puppy around though and i'm sure you will treat it like royalty, good luck with her.

Frank, according to the pet shop owner, she has had all her injections but I will ask for more detail when we go to Sarina tomorrow.
We will be taking her to the vet later in the week for a check up and I
want to enquire about having her I/D chipped. Not sure how old they need to be to have the thingy inserted.
JamesH, yep she likes riding in the Disco.
She stands up looking out the window but often ends up on the floor,
she is able to climb back up tho !!
I think I will have to put a small trailer behind the rideon so she can help with the mowing when she gets older.
Cripes she is full of beans or else I am getting old ?
Cheers.

I wouldn't take the Shop owners word, I'm sure you should be entitled to the vet's papers showing she has had all her vacinations, extremely important nowdays with Kennel Cough and Parvovirus. If you ever have to leave her in a kennel you will need the paperwork showing that she has been vacinated, all the best, regards Frank.

Congrats on your first dog!
She should be quite an intelligent dog by her breeding and I recon the best way to enjoy owning a smart dog is to train them well. I think they are happier for it. She'll be a good friend for life.
