Has anyone suffered a problem with the Dual Climate Control, whereby one side will operate and the other will just blow cold air or no air.

Checked all the simple things, like vents etc.

Vehicle went in for a check up a while back and the computer hooked up, i think it was mentioned a new "Dividing vain" was needed???
Does this sound right?

This is the unit in question.
Symptoms are, frozen windscreen one side with cold passenger, while the other enjoys warmth and has a clear windscreen.
It really is that cut and dry, it amazes me the air doesn't mix in the cabin and even out more, but it doesn't.

I have read a bunch of threads on here about the Climate Control, i have checked the Fuse Box in engine bay (just a visual)

I know its the soldered connections that really need the inspection.

Is it a common thing for these units to have a mind of their own or a typical case of broken parts.

Thanks

Probably the blend flap servo. See what we have written here:
Blend Motor Diagnosis and Replacement (http://www.rangerovers.net/repairdetails/blendmotor.html)

I have no idea what a dividing vain/vane is - unless they meant a distribution flap servo. If so, they are wrong (although one might as well replace it whilst doing the temperature control blend flap servo as they come as a set of three). The distribution flap directs air to the floor/windscreen/face vents, etc.

Thanks Ron, yes mate.. I think it was mentioned as a Distribution Flap (my appolgies for the poor description.... my house has run out of coffee!!)

Reading link now :) Brilliant, exactly the info i was after...

The GF has booked the RR in for this Thursday (i think she was quoted $700 or $800, but i wanted to have an idea what was involved for my own learning and interest.)
Very well explained.
