Firstly big thanks to a fellow defender 130 twin cab driver from utilitycampers for the tow!
As it turns out a broken fuel filter housing causing no fuel to get to the motor some how it had been busted its not the cars fault it looks as though something fell into the cover and snapped one of the 4 hose connections off. This is the part near the chassis rail on the drivers side.
So lr assist are helpful hopefully be on the road next week. Car drove great for the 4 kms I did in it, felt better than a 08 twin cab I drove with the gear changes.
What a coincidence getting a tow from another 130!!!!
I can't beleive that this happened though! No chasing foxes this weekend!!

LOL I have to say though it was an aswome 4 kms however I still love the car for my purposes it's the most practical thing for my purposes I have had a great time sitting in it this weekend lol
also a new hilux went past and driver had a laugh!!
After much debating over wether I take a defender over a hilux you could imagine what I was thinking in a busy roundabout 4 kms from pick up.
Funnily enough I still love it despite the fact it's a big paperweight

No boys, I can beat that - how's 250 metres ..... ?!!!
As I drove my new 110 out of the dealers yard on Thursday I went to switch on the fan - no response. An no 12V power out of the cig lighter - everything else OK.
I pulled over and checked all the fuses - no issues, so I pulled into their service centre round the next street - literally 10 mins after leaving the dealers yard.
Happily in this case it was simple - when the Autron tech fitted the cruise control, he accidentally knocked off the power connectors for both items. Back on and fixed immediately.
Lucky it was just a simple fix - but sheesh, that must be THE record surely !

Nope he got 4 km's, you only got 250m (I think yours would be about the average distance).....

Probably should have been picked up though, hopefully this happened on Saturday and next week means Monday, otherwise for a new car this is disgraceful.

Have been told its not a warranty issue......Have ordered the new Part $110, LR Australia say it must have been stood on or something dropped on it. I cant be shagged argueing, and anyway they'd want to tow the car away. My friend is a mechanic and he can fix it in two minutes, so I'll just pay to get it fixed.

That is absolutely out and out bulls**t :censored:
So the stealer denies responsibility I assume ??
I can't for the life of me see why you should have to fork out your hard earned for something after 4 kilometres.. :rocket::rocket::soapbox:

So who organised the tray ... the stealer pre-delivery? In which case it's between them to sort out who picks up the tab.

Rosco,
I organized the Tray Post delivery...............so really I have to cop it in this instance. Youd reckon they could send the part out in good faith but hey thems the breaks.
Did I mention I love my 130 :)

Well .... that let's the stealer off the hook. BUT .......... I reckon you should take the matter up with the tray mob.

Rosco your right I should take it up withthe Tray Builder...................if you met the people that built my Tray then you'd understand it would be more of a headache than the $110 in this instance.............let me say customer service is not one of there strong points.
They build a great tray but they would claim they never did it and I have no proof they did, but I am CERTAIN they would have busted it by accident and not noticed it. Probably put a Hair line fracture in it and once fuel started pumping through it let go..............

Funny how nobody wants to take responsibility for their actions now-a-day, you'd think the stealer would grab the opportunity as a show of good faith and LR PR.

Well I have not approached Australs about it, they are in QLD I am in Victoria. The sales guy was not to happy at the price he sold the car to me any rate (he claims they made a mistake in the priceing). Given that I doubt I would have much luck hitting them up for some imcompetent Transport or Tray building company !!
Generally Austral L/R were good and got the car to Vic efficiently and without hassle, and there relationship manager went out of her way to help me. Overall I have had a positive experience with Australs....especially there relationship manager she made a couple of small issues dissapear !!

Hi folks,
an update to this issue. Off there own bat Australs have offered to pay for a new fule filter housing (I did not request or ask that they do this merely told them what happened).
Jess Foy there customer relationship manager has gone over and abover her duty to help me out and has made dealing with Australs a VERY positive experience.
I owe this lady a couple of beers !!
