No tail/stop lights

Hi Guys
The Grinch got pulled over by the Plods this evening.
No tail or stop lights,indicators ok.
86 Rangie,any "normal" culprits to look at first???

Take the rear lenses off & check the bulbs (My hot favourite)


If not ....
Check the fuses
Check the wiring harness at where the trailer plug makes connection
Open up the flap cover of the Trailer plug & make sure the pins arn't touching

After that your into multi meter territory? ....

We looked at it this arvo.
BOTH stop/tail lights blown.
Replaced globes.
LHS works back to front,ie tail is brake,brake is tail.
RHS brake only.
Deb has to go to Narrogin tommorow so Trev the Landy lover Auto elec can have a look.
Just wasted a long weekend argueing with my CHEAP CHINESE log splitter,and it still is broken!!! Was in no mood to deal with Lord Lucas!!!

Crook Earth,check ALL earth connections to the rear lights, and check wiring at connectors by following wire colours

I think 86 still has bullet connectors. In any case Just check that the wires have not been mixed up just behind the taillight at the first connectors.

Check the globe working in reverse hasn't been jammed in backwards.
