lt77 gearstick

trying to remove the gearstick from lt77 disco,have pulled everything from top of box down to rubber seal at bottom of box,can i just pull the stick out or will something dislodge from inside the box.Thanks to lr4x4 .com for pic

Bit the bullet and pried it out with 2 screwdrivers.found huge wear marks werethe springs have been rubbing,Hope this explains the stiffness in the gear lever,just filled up the wear with weld and ground back should last another 300000.
