HI ALL
I got a 1999 defender with the stock steel rims .I want to now what sort of alloy rims or steel rims I could buy for it without spending a fortune ? also what type of after market seats in the front can I use in the defender keeping in mind they have to lift because of the battries and other stuff .

Not necessarily a good move, breaking the bead on the current Defender alloy wheels can be a real bugger in the bush.

Not sure what Rims you are after but this set is in the markets section located at melbourne and a good price.

Performance Wheels in South Australia make the TX1 rim that has a 1400kg load rating and are available in 7" and 8" widths to suit the Land Rover stud pattern.

These wheels are used on off road racers, so are bloody strong.

Disco rims fit.

Rovacraft have rims too.

On my 110 I used disco 1 rims, which I modded to change the offset out by 20mm then I had them zinc + powder coated. I'm running 33's (255/85 BFG MT km/2) and standard height with no rubbing.

Can post pics of you are interested.

Got these on my Puma (8 inch) and very happy with them. Better turning circle and ability to use bigger rubber without suspention contact.
