View Full Version : Puma 'hesitation' around 1800-2200 RPM?

Re-posting this question afresh as I suspect it's buried in the other thread I raised it:

My Puma only has about 600km on it now - just got back from first trip ;) - was great overall except for 2 issues - the gear change rattle I mentioned in another thread, and also something I noticed with what seems like 'hesitation'.

Seems to be between 1800-2200 rpm, and not consistent, but tends to be more noticeable under light acceleration.

Anyone else had this, and if resolved - what was the issue? Maybe it's just too new? I will be running it down to MEL tomorrow so hopefully a couple thousand kays should help.

I think I saw something similar to this on a Defender2.net thread alleging it may hav been due to a dealer software upgrade. Any ideas?

Thanks Gav

just not pulling away at all? but in a smooth way?

I don't really know what you mean by hesitation

Sorry Gav, I have not had anything like what you are describing. Make sure you mix your speed up on that run down to Melbourne.

Not a linear progression and smooth revs - kind of a bit asthmatic  - think: the way old carburettored vehicles used to rev when they were cold. Only it happens just at around the 2000-2200 RPM level...

Spoke to LR today - their service manager agrees that it sounds like EGR, but they will check it out when I get back.
