I have 2 beautiful little girls and the missus and i dont want any more so tomorrow 8am i'm booked in to have the plumbing adjusted - thats right a vasectomy. I have an extra large bag of peas waiting for when i get home after lunch, going under a general as there is no way i want to be awake while some surgeon is tugging at my tackle .

I've been avoiding that like the plague after 4 kids. SWMBO even has a referral for me. I was almost halfway there on doing it until my then 12 yr old daughter asked me what it was.
I then explained in layman's terms and she gave me a layman's response....."Does that mean you will be desexed Daddy?". That was enough for me. So until I change my mind...I will have to keep exercising my skill at.....well you know ;),

Pain is not the problem, i once woke up in surgery while have a K nail inserted into my leg- a K nail is a 40cm long rod used for aligning tibia bones , scared me off being awake.

Luck does not come into it,
you patener will be happy for the next few weeks as you will be out of action for a while.
Nothing to it realy,
just have a relaxing day doing nothing at all on the couch or chair of preferece,
I felt good after mine until I went on a day out the next day and over did it.
It has been said that in the chair it is less painful because the surgeon is usually more gentle as you are awaike,
mine was under a general

I' wouldnt be having it done if it wasnt for my wife have a lot of hormonal problems and none of the pills available help, this was the easiest (safest)option .

Well it can't be said that Aulro isn't a 'tell all or discuss all' website!
I Googled how to cook rabbit about three months ago and near the top of websites to visit was Aulro with a couple of stories about how to cook a rabbit. Amazing I thought, doesn't matter what you type in about going off road or camping etc Aulro pops up.
I'll Goggle in about a month about vasectomys and lets see if Aulro pops up as well?
Good luck for tomorrow.

Different strokes for different folks......I had it done with just a local anaesthetic early morning and no probs at all, went to work on night shift, no pain or problems ever. My brother had it and suffered with just simply walking for a couple of weeks.
Just be sure you actually want it and view it as non reversible.

Had it done, all went well:D
Back to driving a forklift 3 days latter no dramas.
Now booked in for the "Test" to see if all has worked/not worked(you know what mean).
Did the jar thing so off we go, now SHMBO isn't feeling well so double booking made.
Can you see where we are going???

I went in for a local but the Doc talked me into going the Sedation. Was much easier not knowing. Went home feeling great and did a few things around the house, then the local anaesthetic wore off and was like someone kicked me in them. Lucky I had some good happy drugs from a previous operation left over and spelt it off. Bit tender for a few days but no biggy. Just rest up and milk it for what it's worth.
PS: It doesn't stop them getting a head ache.;)

My tale of woe and sore nuts continues, well its been 1 1/2 weeks and the so called "you'll be right tomorrow " was a crock of bs- in my case anyway. After a weekend of excruciating pain i went to see my gp who said it yes it was severely swollen and bruised but not outside the realms of a normal reaction, thats of course if normal is looking like Tyson has used your ball bag for practice and suggested i just rest. Tuesday went to work and although uncomfortable it was bearable, that night i couldnt sleep and woke up with balls of fire, i had this uncontrollable itching/ burning sensation and i couldnt stand sill so wifey took me to hospital. Had an ultrasound on my nuts to check for bloodflow and although flow was weak again it was within spec ,prescribed antibiotics and panadeine forte .
Wednesday night noticed a puss like discharge which had me worried so Thursday morning back to gp for a checkup and swab for pathology to check.
Friday back to GP and prescribed stronger anti biotics, weekend was painful but bearable but Sunday night noticed stitches had dissolved and i had 2 open wounds still bleeding . Almost in tears from what might lay ahead i popped a few pills and tried to sleep. Monday morning back to gp to check swab results and turns out i have a staff infection in my wounds and was prescribed more antibiotics. Doc cleaned me up (painfully ) and dressed wounds and said see you tomorrow.
Now i can handle pain most of the time and if it was a leg or arm wound i could deal with it but this is so debilitating that i can do SFA unless i risk opening the wounds further. Luckily i had booked annual leave for all this week but looks like i wont be able to do anything constructive in my time off.
So blokes let this be a warning to you if you plan on having the snip.
A few tips -
1) have it under a local as they are more likely to be easier on you
2) ask for a script for antibiotics
3) ask for script for panadeine forte
4) make partner put out before as it may be weeks before next one
5) take a week off work, if your ok in 2 days, you'll have 3 days to work on your landy.

Mine wasn't quite as bad as yours, but I did struggle finding underwear to...ahem....contain the increased size shall we say. Stayed that size for a month, and gradually went down during the following fortnight.
Mine's still tender 4 years later :(
