View Full Version : Terrafirma dislocation cones installation

I recently bought new Terrafirma +2" shocks to go with my new genuine LR springs.

I was advised that these longer shocks will work with the normal length springs, but it's wise to also install dislocation cones on the rears.

Now, I'm a bit new at this (as you will see), but I'm unsure of how to install these cones. It seems obvious they attach to the axle, but I havent quite worked out how, as they have 2 parts attached by 1 bolt right in the centre. They also came with 2 brackets that look the same as what holds the original springs in place.

Anyone fitted these and able to provide some advice?

If they're the same as other relocation cones out there then then main cone part goes inside the spring and the round plate goes on top of the top chassis spring locating bracket thing. Then you use the bolt/s to sandwich the plate and the cone to the top chassis bracket.

The plate that looks like the original lower spring retainer is exactly that.
When I fitted mine the original lower plates were both cracked through on one side.

I dont know which ones you have howeve it sounds like what I have got

in which case it fits into the upper spring hanger and looks like this

the cone goes in to the hanger and then plate goes on the top of the hanger bolt goes up through the middle...
spring retainers go on the bottom of the spring and bolt in place with two bolts

If you have a relocation cone that fits on the bottom then I can't help you..
