The Disco has been Saved!

My D3 has been saved from a life of total bordom as the school run bus for our 5 Foster kids.
Last Thursday a 15 year old Mitsubishi Delica mini van arrived from Brisbane on the back of the community freight truck with a few inches of dust both outside & in.
So, I get my D3 back. No more kids seats all over the place, no more muddie feet (except mine), no more dead fish on the carpet, no more sticky hand marks oN the window, no more slammed doors, no more baby bottles being spilt, no more juice being turned upside down in a cup holder, no more chips being ground in to the carpet & no more very short drives from home to school etc.
Love it.
Of course it will cop all of the above (except school run) every holiday.
Now I have 3 4WD's to play musical cars in the driveway with.

BTW The Delica cleaned up OK & drives alright for an old car with a clunky gear box - quite surprised really. Missus thinks it's great, though admits it is no Discovery.
So we are both happy, she because she dosn't have to put up with me moaning about the D3 being abused, me because I get MY car back - sweet!

A Delica is the family bus of one of my sons. I hadn't heard of them until he got one a couple of years ago. Horses for courses.

I've seen a lot as school-MPV duties . Down to 4 Grand in auctions
for old L400 these days. You don't want your D3's interior trashed
when there's this alternative .

The fish thing is a bit of a story, but basicly.

I took the 4 boys fishing up the coast, they caught a good few bream which I was busy de-hooking & re-baiting up for them.
1 of the boys got a fish off by himself while I was busy with another. He asked what to do with it? I said chuck it in the fridge in the back of the car until I get time to gut it.
So, he tried to but could not open the fridge, he left it on the open tail gate.
Fortunatly I found it soon after & it was not a real big cleaning job but I swear the car smelt of fish or a long time.
The Missus just reckons I just wanted something else to moan about.

Hi Jonesfam,

Kids eh? I remember years ago when our kids were really young and we lived in the country on a long winding road (sounds like a song). I bought a demonstrator Jackeroo (one of the first models) and when I got home I did the typical Dad thing - dragged them all out into the car and off for a drive. The only problem was that my wife had given them all lime spiders and ice cream just before I got home. As we were driving I hear this "Dad, I'm gonna be..." - and then I heard a terrible gushing sound. Looking back all I could see was green chunder all over the back seat and floor (and the other two kids!) - in my new car. It took months for the smell to go - in fact I reckon I could still smell it when I traded it in.
