Front suspension bushes on D3

has any one had a go at changing the lower/rear susp. bush on a d3, is worth giving it a go? or do you need a press?

Not that I have looked seriously at it... ( mine is pretty new )...but I doubt the bushes can be changed safely or with no damage , without removing the arms and using a good press.

The job is possible, the GTR site is a great help. Anything is possible but the safest way and also the least chance of doing damage would be to use a suitably sized press. You will have to get the wheel alignment checked after you finished the job.

When changing bushes I usually do all the disassembly and reassembly myself and take the arm or whatever down to the local workshop to pop the old bush out and put the new one in.

the gen LR bushs its 50$ more if you get the hole arm, it comes with the bushes and ball joint in allready,

thanks very much evryone! I'm going to look into prices. Maybe a full set might be a good idea. I think it might be easier just to change the whole arms so i'll look into that too. I'll let you know how i go.

I've had the same issue, apparently the 2005 models need the arm replaced.
FYI - I purchsed a set of bushes from the UK...looked at replacing them myself but gave it to the local mechanic. Looked over his sholder and definately a job for a professional. You will also need a wheel alignment which has to go to LR for a suspension lock to allow the wheel alignment to occur...the whole excersise cost me $1000!
The bad news...the knock was fixed for about a week....the repaired bushes puts strain on the ball joint which is now the problem!

I should have simply replaced the whole arm!

The whole arm comes with the new high heavier duty ball joint or you can replace it on the existing arm. Replacing the whole arm is usually cheaper as it comes with the bushes and ball joint and saves labour.
Ball joint was changed by LR because it was not strong enough so see if you can get them to come to the party.
