Not during warranty I don't..... cause I get free servicing every 12,000km or 6 months. :p;)

Mate, we are probably a bit fatigued out on the topic of oils. If you do a search for oil recommendations here you'll see why. :D

The LR spec says that it should comply with the Ford spec WSS-M2C913-B which is a 5w-30.

My service department use a fully synthetic Mobil 1 brew.

Quite a few of us do.

However we also know how to use the search function to find topics that have been covered innumerable times before.

If I could make another suggestion; type your question in something vaguely resembling English and you are more likely to get an answer. If you want someone to take the trouble to answer your question, then it is only reasonable that you will take the trouble to make your question easy to read and understand. Most of the 106 people who viewed your post may have given up trying to understand what you wanted to know after the first couple of lines. :p

Some alternatives here

The Castrol 'Professional' oils are good, but only available in bulk.

my scrutiny of the site failed to answer what i wished to know,,,,questions to at least 8 L-r dealers---/castrol and shell technical departments, basically revealed a pandora,s box of inconsistancies, hence the question was posted.

i spend most of my time ,in the scrub,or out on the ocean,,,,, pc.s and laptops r not part of my daily routine.

unaware that i was in the company of perfection,,,,,,,,,,,if you struggle with short and to the point, such is life .

the post is hardly complex or difficult to decipher.

boiled it down to castrol 5-30w slx proffesional bmw longlife-LLO1
do you have an opinion on this oil?

some of us give without judgement.

In spite of the fact that you have reacted badly to my first attempt to help you understand why it took two days for anyone to respond to your post, I am prepared to offer another suggestion that might help you get a quicker answer in future.

If you use a descriptive title for your post instead of a cryptic one, there is usually a better chance that someone will read it and respond. It has a further advantage in that if it elicits some useful information in the responses, when other people are doing a search there is a greater chance that they will find the information.

I am trying to be helpful, but of course you are free to ignore any of the advice given on this forum.

I didn't claim to have deciphered it. :D

I merely identified it as being cryptic. :p

May i suggest that you lighten up some vtn,,once again you choose to pass judgement upon me.

Life is much more pleasent when one accecpts others as they are.,

as for the cryptic nature of my title,s ,,that will continue ,its called character ,its not life or death for me if i dont recieve replys, i am mainly trawling for opinions not solutions to specific problems,

if i may be so bold to give you some advice ,,,dont leave your address posted in your visitor message box ,there are plenty of bad eggs around!!

as for the title ,,i will go the extra mile for those challenged types

my job = the tasks i do to recieve currency
bass strait= the place i go to do the job
your oil = the crude i take from seabed so you may run your jalopy

many thanks for the effort you,ve gone to educate me,,i wont bother to ask you a third time on your opinions of the lubricant in question.;)

A quick search came up with this... Maybe it will help.

http://www.aulro.com/afvb/90-110-130-defender-county/106283-puma-engine-oil-specs.html

And seriously mate, posting about his address.... C'mon... Its not the school yard around here...

We're gown adults, and as such believe everyone should have a basic grasp of how to interact.

Poorly written posts are often difficult to read and often frustrating. We had a member join a while back that typed in "SMS speak" it was unbearable to read...

In you case, you subject heading shouldnt be so cryptic as it wont get the hits you'd like...

As you like direct speak here would be a good title..

"Puma, Catrol XYZ oil anygood?"

Good luck

in regards to address its been my experience that certein folk will monitor people,s movements,on site, knowing they maybe off on a trip ,, have taken advantage of a vacant residence.....
read it as you choose ,my motivation was simply to bring a degree of awareness.

your point is taken.i suggest some might need to re boot there tolerance levels,,i think unbearable is a big stretch...........cheers

I understand Trailcutter perfectly well. :)

It might say something about the way my brain works.

A google search might be challenged though.

Oh well back to Friday's (DA's) SMH cryptic crossword...now there is a challenge.

K Rudd could use that saying.

I've never been to Mt Pinnabar, my cousin John has in his County and speaks highly of it as a good drive....he did it in blowie and bush fire season though. August might test the chillblains.

its a must do,including the rest of the area,,360 views of the nsw main range and all the major peaks in mexico,,,great huts some isolated some not ,,,,,,,,,,yep august throws the white stuff into the scenario for the last kilometre or so.

spent the last week slowly going round the twist listening to a chronic squeek in the rear of the defer directly behind me,,,after much difficulty trying to diagnose whilst driving ,,and having 9 year old attemt diagnosis for me,,,,,,,,, trial and error revealed it to be inside the rhs rear passenger seat backrest, dissasembly and liberal vasoline application has cured it,,thank christ.......

No point having dwarves (9 year olds) if they don't work for you. I've run out of them.

If it is any consolation at least in the Puma you can hear the squeaks.

Don't quote me - but isn't that area closed from the Queens Birthday weekend through to the Melbourne Cup weekend?

Might be worth chasing before you (might) waste your fuel.
