Just curious how many owners are on this forum and if they would spend the extra $$$ to buy one now. In other words was it worth the extra dosh

Maybe…… I really LIKE mine, but love it……. Not really. I enjoyed my two previous 4wd’s more, maybe because I was always doing something to them. I haven’t really put my stamp on this vehicle yet. It’s still pretty much stock as a rock. Tow bar, changed over the GPS unit to my old Magellan and moved the iPod connection from the Left Hand side to the right with a cradle for the iPod it’s self. The warranty problems and break downs etc. Get rid of it? Never, I’ll stick with it and I’ll make it mine whether she likes it or not. I have a load of new gear sitting in the shed waiting to bolt on. In her defense, it’s only traveled 9,000kms since new (Oct 2008) so not run in yet. You can’t bet the look of the vehicle and the individuality for owning one. Nah she’s a keeper. But I do fear it’ll be a testing relationship for both of us.

Its a keeper for me. Love it, best 4wd Ive had. Kept the RRC 92 Vogue for those days I want to cruise and not get too invloved in the driving , but the SVX has much more character and as Craig suggests , its look is unbeatable. I will however be "blacking " it out i.e. Matt black paint work on the front Grill. I also will be changing side steps to Mulgo. I also have a 2003 TD5 Disco and whilst I like that car to drive , it to like the RRC is quite boring to drive. I am more comfortable with the Recaros too ( btw ULR got a quote to replace out of interest and per seat $14K !!!) I also do 120 Km's per day to work and it really hums along on the highway and nice and econmic . I assue as I get more k's on ( 16,000 kms currently , ) it will get more economical. Fortunately I have not expericenced the woes that everyone else has here ( Apart from wheel carrier needed to be fitted to stop pulling door away from frame) So touchwood , it will not get issues. Greta car ad hope to have many yeasrs of enjoyment out of it.

I have had mine for about 12 months and just love it !
Worth the extra dosh ?
No risk !
Spent heaps on bits and pieces and it is really is taking shape to be serious off road touring vehicle.
I have been lucky enough to avoid all of the problems that are communicated on the forum. Luck ? Maybe more care is taken with the assemble of the SVX ?
SVX's are a special vehicle amongst special vehicles ! Some others like to bag out the SVX but you cant take their special place away !!!
Sell it ? - Not a chance.

Ummm...guess which one I have...:wasntme:
Mine is also a keeper! Best 4WD I have had due to it's character and as others have said, the looks on people's faces is worth it when they stare.:D
There was 2 for sale 2nd hand on Carsales recently for $66k each. Admittedly one had a few extras but they are more than what I paid new!
The premium for the SVX over base model was around 12K based on the best price I could negotiate for either model.
The Recaros are worth that difference alone.
I just want a bull bar that will fit!
If the SVX wasn't available I would have bought a base model and purchased after market seats.
I don't like mine......I LOVE IT!
