Ok I know it is a butchers method but has anyone ever replaced the stud that holds the spring loaded belt tensioner on a 300tdi with a bolt?
Somone had striped the thread and put a helicoil in the housing and it pulled the whole lot out the other day, luckly was actually watching it when it went while i was playing with something else. Now instead of getting a whole new housing is it feasable to run a bolt from behind the housing or is their not enough meat?
