wonder how it steers?
On the good side---no punctures :angel:If you look near the LHS dumb iron between the front tracks, you can see what looks like a hydraulic ram. So it was either power assisted steering or full hydraulic steering.

This is the steering.

It appears to have a hydrulic pump on the RHS of the engine, follow the lines from the cylinders.

it occurs to me that why would they make this conversion to a land-rover? Yes why would they?
It must have been horrendously expensive and the engineering design a real headache for the mechanical engineers!
One well placed rocket or armour piercing shell would have made it a dead duck to say the least.
Even a slap with a back issue of "land rover International" would have disabled it.
In the mining industry they would have gone for an ex military vehicle or something practical l!
Anyway the pictures are A1 and the post very interesting, so thanks amegio for the pictures......:clap2:

Tony,
I think that those positive attitudes are what every Parent, Father, Mum, Dad, uncle and aunt would wish for.
Including 99.99 % of AURO members.
They are simple and achievable goals and I'm sure that you will adhere to them, no matter what.
Makes me feel proud of you and I'm sure the rest of our special community.
thank you for sharing your aspirations with us all....
We will be here to offer assistance and advice when ever you need it....Yeaaaaaaa

I think they were designed for bomb disposal teams to cross boggy ground, locate and destroy. There is a modern version out too for snowy areas.

That sign is a classic, could easily be applied to the roads on the Mid North Coast, especially Taree.
Series one is makes the scene authentic, not sure about the trailer though, needs to look older and less new.
Great picture, thanks for sharing....:D
