Thats a beautiful fish mate. That smile on your face says it all. If the smile was any bigger you would eat your ears!!!:D:D:D

Nice catch.
I know you can't (or probably - rightly so - don't wish to) reveal the locality where you caught him but may I ask, was it lake or river and was there much fight in him?

Caught her in Eildon on 6 pound line, I prefer to fish the real light gear, suprisingly she didnt fight until she saw the boat, then she got very upset and went for a run :)

The lighter the gear the better you have to be prepared,,
better knots, better drag settings, better patience:p

I am intrigued by the mixture of metric and imperial measurements.

Did you describe it as 5 lb instead of 2.27 kg because it sounds heavier :p or is the weight of fish, like people's height and the weight of newborn babies something that continues to be imperial long after the change to metric measures.?

BTW Well done! That is a pretty impressive Brown Trout.

5lb sounds heaps better than 2.5kg,,,;):p:cool:

mind you,, a 2.25kg trout is no picnic to drag in,,,:D

Always measure my fish and women in Pounds. If I'm gunna have a beer I'll drink a Dozen, and I'm 196cm tall, so buggered if I know why cant change old habits I guess :)

This time of year you can only fish on the lakes, season closed on the rivers for trout.

Nice fish, did you kiss it and put her back in the water?
