Here's a short video of my rangie in second gear.
Starts at idle, release clutch then plant foot. Revs to about 3,000rpm then I back off.

Your Rangie runs an Isuzu? :)

It certainly picks up quick, engine speed and boost.

Looks to hit a max of 16psi, bet ya that makes the Isuzu fly. :o

Was it in low range?, looks like you're doing all of 10kph! I seem to remember long ago, one of our southern neighbours from down your way reckoning he could spin all four in second on the tarmac, coincidentially it was also a suzi equipped Rangie. Now I'd like to see that!:D
Maybe it was a load.:p

My speedo is currently playing games, but 3000rpm in second high is about 40km/h. It can beat most ricers until I have to change gear.

It was running 20psi boost, so I've either got a wastegate issue or a clogged line to the boost gauge.
With 20psi it has traction issues in second on dry tarmac and third on wet tarmac. It's good fun.

I still call BS:p

Maybe when you fit your intercooler, upgrade the 2.25" exhaust, put one of the other turbo's you were going to fit

You should turn the screws and find out for yourself.;)
I'm not going to put up a video of squealing wheels on a public road, the police have been known to use them against people.:wasntme:

i had mine out half a dozen turns, more than its 2 3/4's it is now, it ****ed black smoke, absolutely flew...in comparison to normal and the pyro flickered around madly!

Yet.....no wheelspin, or becoming loose to drive on the dry asphalt

Email it, I'd be quite happy to watch then destroy, put up or....:)

You don't also have a stock 5L VN commodore capable of 13sec 1/4 mile?:D

If you've got black smoke then you don't have enough boost. Once you're blowing black smoke you're going backwards. Mine runs cleaner than your average 1KZ surf or hilux.
What size tyres and gearing are you running? I'm on 29's, 1.003 transfer, second gear is about 3:1, 3rd is about 1.6:1.

Commodores, never.

Well aware of black smoke, 17psi, maybe when I fit the VNT and 25psi I'll be burning up all 4?

Don't care about theory, proof!:D

Doesn't have to be a public road, any private driveway'll do, even if it's damp:D, just take the front or rear plate off and show us the good oil. I'd do it if I could!

One current problem is I'm down on boost. You'll see in that vid that it only hits 16-17psi where it used to hit 20, it's also hitting peak boost later and dropping it sooner. This is enough of a power loss that tarmac presently won't let go.
But I think I can still do 3rd gear gravel, is that a help? Rovercare, can you spin all four on gravel in 3rd?

The only way I can spin all 4 is with my centre, front and rear diff locks engaged;)

I'd be keen to watch any vids you have! gravel will be fine

I'll see what I can do. It's a little cold here at the moment. This is caused by freezing drifting fog.

Anyone else want to post some similar vids? Particularly those with bigger turbos.

A bit of black ice should get all four spinning in any gear easily:D.......Whats that in further uphill in front of your Rangie, looks like a big black chook, or is it a long lost Moa?:D........... I'd like to post some accelleration vids, but I've only got a small turbo:p. ............You should be taking more advice from Matt, with those sort of temperatures, I'm dead sure there'd be many good ideas in every bottle of JayDee:D.

I know from experience that black ice gets all four going in the wrong direction at 80km/h.

That's an extremely rare four legged frost moa. I've managed to domesticate it to some extent, but it's still highly destructive on occasion.
I plan to undertake some bottle based research tonight.:twobeers:

As eluded to by some of the previous posts, a long time ago a statement was made, maybe in jest, we just like to stir the pot once in a while:D. Plus if it's true, wouldn't you like to see it done? I sure would!

Like to see it done... Yes:D..... Likely to see it..... not:( I know mine wont do it. Even when I fit the intercooler and fuel/boost it up. Something would snap first.
May be possible, Think I should try some wee skinny little 205's on;)
I'm just a little disillusioned as have done some damn crazy stuff:twisted:

So come on..... lets see it:p:p:D
