Down in Donald we managed to snap a Swayaway torsion bar,, which left us rather sagged on one side.

IF we had doubled up the MAIN springs, would it have made a height difference?

Coil springs, depending on how much initial weight sag on a single spring, not a great deal however the overall lift wouldn't increase as the spring height won't change assuming your not stacking the springs :eek:

same deal with leaf but a wouldn't think leaf is what you were using.

Doubled springs will seriously affect the ease of travel in any situation and in a buggy, go find a reaaaaaaaly good chiropractor after!

Probably just got a dodgy bar me thinks.

I assume you ARE talking about the buggy in the pic....

If you had spare coils you'd just substitute one for another that equalled the rate of the torsion bar plus coil and adjust the perch for ride height.

Stacking springs with uneven rates side to side you'd need to adjust the perches to even the ride height, but then your corner weights will be miles out and the thing would be a bugger under brakes, pulling to one side or prematurely locking up on one side, not to mention how it would react through the bumps (either too soft or too stiff ?)

It all depends on your main spring rates and torsion bar rate.

Do they run torsion bars and coil overs? I guess if they are VW design based components they must do???
