So I have a 91 Disco Coupe that I like, it has 2" lift with Bilsteins, and 2" body lift, rolling on 33x12"s and engeneered for 35s. She's on gas and running a semi tired 3.5V8.
I just bought a 95 Disco with a nicely rebuilt engine, and 2 suspension lift on stock wheels, she's a 5 door auto, my 91s a manual.
So.
Do I sell the old one, keep the new one, get a body lift, and some better bigger rubber? The new one has a rear locker, 91 doesn't.
Or
Chuck the 95s engine and auto tranny and diffs in the 91?
I'm having a 3month licesense holiday soon, moving to the snow for 6months, and the missus can't drive a manual.
I have a spare used locker and later model diffs I'd not yet put in the 91 and I was going to reduce the gearing at the diffs. I'll put the locker in the front with the other locker in the rear of whatever I keep.
New car also needs flars and guards cut.
So, in short, what's cheaper engine gearbox diff transplant.
Or body lift, falirs, wider rims, bigger tyres, engeneers certificate?
I will pay to have it done as I'm going skiing for the season and want to make the most of it.
Need it done asap as I'm i debt way over my head now, and need to sell the second disco.
Both Discos are on gas, and we have a golf the missus can drive, won't sell it though.
Also, anyone know a competant mechanic in Cooma, Jindabyne area, or even ACT?
