Does anyone know of a reliable freight forwarder that could pick up wheels in the UK & ship to Australia?
If so any idea of cost?
Regards
Chuck

Unless you're buying privately most suppliers in the UK will ship to Oz. It's worth sending them an email to see how much it costs.

The seller is a wrecker & they will not ship them.
Any one know of any good freight forwarders & are there any hassles associated with importing second hand rims?
I have 19" rims with MTR's for sale see markets section.

Unfortunately Ron , I have not found anyone who would ship large
products to me . I've resorted to a relative to forward , but even
that's a problem since many Shipping Companies only deal with an
account holder . Royal Mail have a limited size/weight service that
isn't designed for large/heavy parts. Air freight is crazy money.
This has stopped me bothering with all sorts of metal fabrication
"add ons" over the years. If I can't get something by trackable
DHL (such as electronics) , I don't buy .......

I was quoted 250 pounds for each rim and tyre through the post office
I gave up freight from the uk as a bad idea

Hi Chuck,
I'm not sure if this will be any use to you but I had some quite heavy parts shipped over by Turner Engineering in the UK. Pistons, bearings etc etc for my Disco 2. They advertise in both LR Monthly and LR International, might be worth a call to them to see who they use, I can't remember now but I know the cost was quite reasonable. You might have to ship the rims individually something like that. Might be worth a call, I found them to be most helpful, Freda was the ladies name I think. See how you go.
