Well another LCMP trip been and gone.
Arrived later then had hoped on Friday at just after 3 and contacted Trav and Kelvin who were out collecting firewood as they had arrived earlier. A relaxing set up and dinner and then short stint around the fire and the kids were ready for bed, not sure who fell asleep first
Up early on Saturday and noticed Bullet had arrived, oops must have been early to bed :D Kelvin advised the others were due in at about 8.30 so we had breakfest and got the cars ready for the day. About 9.30 with no one in sight we ventured off for a drive in areas close to camp and the main road in. A quick run through Cruiser Canyon and then up Telecom Hill before playing in the big wombat holes at the entrance to Telecom Hill, as Trav would say some real pucker moments  We decided to swing by camp in case anyone had arrived but no yet so we headed up Club Rally Circuit and while waiting for another group to get through we heard Dave and the others on the radio. Quickly joined by Dave, Greg, Darren, and Tim we ventured down and around to the Pig Pen where the opportunity was taken to flex up for the obligtery poser shot, with even the old Game showing what leaf sprung landies are capable of ;) There should be some photos floating around as the camera's were out.
Next on the cards was Test Track which is a fun little red run along a creek. One secion offers a nice little rock area where varying routes are possible. After being hung up badly on one section last time it was hard to resist giving it another go, which offcourse means follow the leader :) I will get some videos up which will show some of this once i stop fighting with the computer  This little section resulted in a few getting bellied out which unfortunately resulted in some casualties.......4 engine mounts :o all on the one Rangie  Guess Who? While spares were sourced and installed, gearbox's strapped down and secured a led the shrunken group back to camp so a few could get ready to leave and the kids could have a bit to eat. As we got back to camp for a late lunch (3pm) we found NOZ camped around the fire  turned out he arrived about 30mins after the first group but missed us at each turn and on the radio due to a change to avoid radio traffic. Sorry buddy :( After a catch up around camp Kelvin, NOZ and I escorted Dave and Tim towards the office via Camp Road, which happens to have a nice wombat section at the end, perfect for an afternoon spring stretching session....good fun  A few good byes and back to camp to have a chat and settle in for the night. Greg and Darren ventured off late afternoon and NOZ stayed for a quick campfire experience and then also headed home, back to three for the night.
Sunday morning and Trav packed for an early departure (hint) while Kelvin and I got the troops ready for a morning drive. Kelvin noticed that his rear springs were not seated properly so we looked for a spot to flex the d2 up for some quick repairs. We decided to have a look at Air Locker Ave which is a Red with extreme hills track that provided some challenges. Finding our selves going up and down some tracks that do not appear to have been driven in a while i know my lockers got some use, going both up and down hills. We decided to head towards Hilux Hill and detoured via a little play hill, the step up proved to be exactly 100inches long resulting in the d2 being stuck between the step and a tree to the rear, text book snatch and all was good until a hand break failure saw a car heading downhill without a driver  luckily still attached via the snatch with only a little slack so a lucky escape...talk about a heart start moment though :( With just the two cars we raced through Claw Gorge and back around Test Track, taking the opportunity to play on a little clay hill climbing its way out of the creek  (fun even if it did defeat me ). Having a look at Hilux hill we choose the middle option as being the wise option, some big step ups on a few of the hills which i was not keen on. As i was heading home that afternoon and the grey clouds were rolling in we ventured back to camp for a quick lunch and pack up, leaving Kelvin for one more relaxing night around the fire.
Overall a good weekend, with some fun sensible driving. Drive of the weekend has to go to Tim in the game, great fun to watch. Thanks to all that attended, was an easy relaxed trip to lead.
Will post up some video when i get a chance.
