As the RRS is basically a D3 with a different body - did the first RRS (05/06) come with the D3 e-diff. If so was it standard or an option and what models had it. If looking at a vehicle how would I tell if it is fitted?

Also I appreciate the TDV6 was the base model - what goodies did the petrol versions have (other than engines) over the TDV6. It would seem the cheapest second hand RRS are the V8s and in black. The diesels though cheaper when sold new now seem to be more expensive on the second hand market for equivalent condition/km vehicles.

Thanks

I believe the E-diff was always an option. If you look underneath at the rear diff you should be able to see the activating solenoid. If you do a search here I am sure there is a pic somewhere.

Thanks for the comments - I guess not too many RRS need a e diff in Double Bay or Toorak so I suppose not many have the option fitted.

Have any after market lockers been developed for the D3/4/RRS as yet?

Once the stock market and my super savings have recovered from the drop of the last 2 months I will be in the market for a nice used RRS - or even a RR.

The e-Diff was and still is an option.

The diesel motors tend to hold their values (especially the TDV8) but the trim levels are generally the same (Though there are some differences available with the more 'premium' engines i.e. the supercharged & TDV8).
