Latest issue of Overlander has the Defender Ad on the back and makes reference to"Six speed Auto transmission is designed for heavy duty applications". Can't find any info on LR Web Site or any press releases. Anyone know anything?

I don't think there is a Defender auto from new, only certain companies are doing the conversions, six speed is the puma box.
it would make a better market offering an auto.

The British 50th anniversary special had V8 and auto. Otherwise the American spec ones from the early 90's did.

There's a thread somewhere on here where daft advertising and typos were discussed and that one came up as well.

Unfortunately no plans what-so-ever for a auto Puma. To meet UK and Euro spec, there's talk of a new 2.2 for next year with rumours of some sort of hybrid option. If that's true they might bring out an auto with stop/start tec like the Freelander?
