Hello there chaps,

we displayed our 1963 Series 2A 88'' ex-military Landy at the RACQ Motorfest last Sunday 11th July, at Eagle Farm Racecourse in Brisbane. This event is held each year, is professionaly run, and attracts 800 classic cars, commercials, and ex-military. The venue has lots of shady trees, lawn, and is family friendly. It's an awesome event as you stroll around drooling at all the Classics, and soak in the social atmosphere. We flew the club banner (GCLRO) and had some pamphlets with us (thanks to el-presidente Josh for getting out of bed early to meet us at the servo along the way) to give to people who were interested in the club. There was great conversation, and one chap in particular interested (he owns a Series 1) in joining the club because amongst other trips, GCLRO also runs trips for Series landy's only.
Our restored S2A didn't miss a beat along the Motorway and it evan touched (an optomistic?) 55mph on occasion! The 2.25 petrol has now done 819 miles since rebuild and is loosening up (the mighty 2.25 petrol stormed over the Gateway Bridge in 4th gear!).
Regards, the two Harrys.
P.s: mark this RACQ classic event in your calendar for next year.
Coming up later in September is the All British Day in Brisbane, and also the 29th Annual Pioneer Rally & Display (South Coast Resto Society) at Heritage Park, Rifle Range Rd Pimpama. I'm sure it's on the weekend of 24 July. This is a great event for every Dad and his Son.
