Does anyone know if a Isuzu Stage1 LT95 front prop shaft flange is the same as a V8 110 LT95 - ie are all LT95 front output flanges the same??
I need to get a different front prop shaft for my conversion, as the LT230 one in my county wont fit the LT95. The flange diameter is different, and I'm guessing also the length.
Do I just need to find one from a V8/LT95 County?
Also, can anyone confirm whether the rear prop shaft is the same on both the LT230 and LT95. The transfer case flange appears to be the same diameter but I haven't actually tried to match them up.

You also need to be aware that the front driveshaft in a stage 1 is a double carden shaft like the D2.

I'm 95% sure the rears are the same..

Thanks Garry. I probably don't want a Stage 1 front shaft then.
If the output flange is different between Stage 1 and 110 then I guess I'd also need to get an output flange to match the V8 shaft?

So the top ends in that photo are the ones that go to the gearbox, and have a larger diameter flange?
And the shorter shaft on the right is for the LT95?
FWIW - the one for the LT230/LT77 that I have at the moment has the same diameter flanges on both ends.

Likewise, I'm pretty sure the Stage 1 LT95 specifically ran the large pattern front output flange for the Stage 1 DC joint. The Countys, Defender, Rangies etc that ran the LT95 had a regular Rover pattern flange for the single uni joint which will also match the rear output.
If its a problem, the flanges will swap over between LT95's.

My double joint on my stage one flogged out when I left Gove. When I went through Rockhampton I got a adapter and a 110 prop shaft as I remember. I still have the adapter and a few prop shafts under the bench. I know I have at least one for the LT95 and maybe the 230 as well.
The rear shaft flanges will fit, I think the lengths were slightly different but not enough to bottem out the spline.
What is your conversion? I may have the bits you need.
As long as your not in a hurry, I only have access to the net every 5 out of 10 days and wont be able to reply till Mon night.

While looking around last night I found this GKN catalog that has dimensions etc for some of the landrover prop shafts.

Could be that the one I've currently will do the job (with a standard front output flange). I'll measure it tonight and confirm.

Just reading this again. The DC shaft that you saw in that catalogue is a Discovery 2 front DC shaft. Although the Stage 1 had a DC shaft also, it had a larger DC joint in comparison and the flanges on the gearbox as far as I know are a different pattern to that on the Discovery2 transfer case.
The other single uni jointed LT95's had the same pattern as those on the LT230's with a single uni joint, and they all match with rear outputs.
For the lengths, the difference between a LT95 and a ZF with a LT230 (and I assume the R380 manuals are the same length) is about 20mm - so not a great deal. I found these differences when doing the conversion. If I recall correctly, the LT95 and ZF/LT230 all mount into the same holes in the chassis. I did not change the shafts when doing this conversion, a mate who did made hybrid shafts with what he had. You'll probably just have to see what happens when you do it.

Thanks slunnie.
I measured the front shaft that is currently fitted, and reckon it would be 650mm flange to flange fully compressed.
I've been told by another source that P/N FRC4799 is correct for LT95 110, and according to that GKN catalog its 620mm.
At 30mm difference, that ties up pretty close to the ~20mm difference you recall.
So I definitely need to replace the Stage1 output flange with a standard one, and probably get a normal LT95 shaft.

The rear shaft is the same length, LT95 and LT230, the front shaft from any LT95 equipped RR will be fine, I have a stack here, more than welcome to one steve:), just change the front output shaft and your done, matter of fact, you can have the one coming out of my 4BD1 RR
