Can anybody clarify that the 1999 TD5 Xtreme Defender has a factory imobiliser on the ECU like the D2????
We have been advised that the fob button imobiliser on ours(NOT GENUINE) was disconnected incase of breakdown whilst outback touring.
Its a government law that we must have one, genuine is OK.
I do have nanocom to check/re-instate if the factory system has been disabled

Hi
I believe the fob is not a Landrover fob???? Perhaps Im wrong????.
Want to know if the ECU imobilises the Defender regardless of aftermarket imobilisers fitted/disconnected.
Thanks
Andrew

The vehicle should have a Lucas AS10 alarm system (same as mine) if it has central locking. If this is the case, and if you look at the speedo there is a red light in the centre half way beween the circle centre and top edge. Then its easy.

Contact sarah at linn and ask for a fob. I think the D1 had the lucas txb fob as did most 90-2002 rovers (as in rover not land rover) however the Aussie verision runs at 315mhz. the ROW runs at 400 something. Linn are cheap for the fobs when they have them. Then just program it with your nanocom.

I believe you can also get it running from the key... but didnt try that...

Mine has 2 immobillisers now as i enabled the lucas one and john not realising it had one deactivated added another.

If you need more info... just give me a bell...
