Relay #6 and #7 in the fusebox!

Hey guys, just wondering what amps the relays 6 and 7 are! I'm needing to replace them but can't find anywhere on the net or other that says what amps they take! I've heard small talk of a 30amp relay doing the job, and have been given a few 40amp relays with the same pin configuration, but i'm unsure if I should use them without knowing exactly.

Not sure if they were original ones, but they are Siemens, and even a part number search has left me with nothing!

Hi Keithy - don't know about the current rating of the yellow relays but I have replaced them with the black FRC1BA relays from JayCar with no problems in the past. Important thing is to make sure they have the same pins, i.e. 30, 85, 86 and 87. The relays that also have pin 87a in the middle are replacements for the green relays.

Gday Keithy. Relays 6 and 7 are fdor the aircon and engine auxilliary coolant fans. 40 amps beats 30 if the pin numbers and arrangement are the same, but the limit here is the crappy printed circuit tracks sandwiched in the relay and fuse board [a 350 dollar item]. If your relays were cooked, the pin sockets and tracks feeding them are probably burnt too,causing high resistance and misleading voltage signals to "Big Brother".Burnt tracks can be "jumped" with real wire to increase current flow;surgery details are on Aulro and Rangerovers.net. Mine was seriously burned out at relays 6 and 7, and from relay 6 across to fuse 34,and also the fuel pump relay 12. I would do this mod. even on a new board;the funny voltages have caused expensive false diagnostic results, and a replacement board will go the same way eventually.Been there, been done by that, but I love the challenge.

I've seen a few people on here have done the fuse board replacement trick before! There are more than just two relays showing signs of heat damage, so I rekon i'll put this mod high on my list!
