Regarding my 1995 300 TDI,I'd be interested if anyone can clarify a couple of things.
1] What is the optimum rev level to maximise a) power and b) torque
2] What speeds do these represent in the various gears
3] Has anyone fitted a taco. on a diesel defender, cos I'm having trouble finding a supplier, let alone anyone who can tell me how to fit it.
The vehicle has stock standard tyres
Look forward to any help

There are a few posts on here about fitting tachos to defenders. Try a search if you haven't already done it.
On a 200tdi you should be able to get one that uses a wire from a particular connection on the back of the alternator to drive it.

Thanks Steve,
This is the first time I've tried using a forum and don't seem to be having much success.
I tried 'search' - typing in either tachometer or rev counter and came up with a blank.Probably not doing something quite right.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Click on Search and then click on Advanced Search.

Enter your search term (specify in Titles) and then in the bottom right hand corner of that specify any particular forum to search (eg Technical Chatter).
