I just wanted to thank the collective wisdom of the forum. I consider myself to have limited mechanical knowledge although it is expanding quickly since I purchased the Disco :). Since i have had it, with the help of AULRO I have cleaned out the intercooler which made a noticeable difference in its driveability and today I got the transfer case lever working smoothly for the first time since I have owned it. Previously I could not engage the CDL and moving from hi to lo was difficult, but now it is smooth like butter :D.
So thanks to all!

Good to see you found yourself a Landy... even if you did chicken out of a Defender :p
Welcome to the club ;)

Thanks Ranga. I ended up getting a camper trailer and a disco for the price of the defender :p. You still got yours? The Disco has kept the good lady happy, she has turned into a landy nut herself now.

Sounds like a good setup.
I still have the Defender. Started tidying up the rust, whilst adding a winch, guard protectors, did the roof lining, added a rear wheel carrier, etc, etc - guess I'll be keeping it a while now!

Its a great source of info, has saved me thousands in mechanic costs since I bought my disco back in 2004.
