Hi All
I was reading the motoring section in the SMH today and they stated that Land Rover were about to remove the LR badge from Range Rover does this mean that Range Rovers are becoming so soft they they do not earn the Land Rover Badge.
Regards
Doug

My '75 had an aluminium Land Rover badge on the lower tailgate. Roughly 6" x 4".

Thats good, means that the Land Rover badged Defender won't be seen to tarnish the reputation of the Range Rover badged luxury vehicles, so the Defender can get back to its roots and be a tough, unsophisticated vehicle that works. Maybe Land Rover will then be able to expand into the light commercial market, project Llama II anyone?

Looks like they are trying to seperate the names for advertising purposes!!! Want a rugged vehicle go LandRover if you want a Toorak Tractor go RangeRover!!!

I read into it that the change was mainly because of the 2WD Rangie about to hit the streets.
If it had the Land Rover badge some would think it might go OK offroad.
So the consumer is considered pretty dumb by Rover...
