I've blown a sealed beam light on the County. I was right in the middle of getting the parts to change the car over to semi sealed H4 anyway, so this will hurry that along a little.

Previously I have failed to take off the black plastic cover around the light. From what I can work out, remove 4 screws, remove indicator and parker and the plastic bit comes off. Only problem is my indicators and parkers wouldn't come out... Do all the screws come off from the front, or do I need to remove some bits from inside the guard? It should be so easy :(

The indicator and parking light should unscrew from the front, normally three screws to remove after taking off the lenses.

I recently changed one of my headlights on my County and found the indicator and parking light lenses had fused together with the rubber backing plate, making them a bit tricky to remove.

Yep that's the same thing happened to me on my old Deefer. Yet to find out what joy the new(er) one holds in that department.

It worked out better than expected. The indicators on the first side popped straight out with a bit of wriggling. The second side (that I had tried previously) took a lot more wriggling, bit I got there.

As a bonus, I discovered that someone had previously installed a traxide style wiring upgrade. So now I have a few extra relays and bits as I was playying to uograde that myself, but I can handle that.

The only problem now is that the new blueish headlight bulbs make the parkers and spotlights look very yellow.

Get headlight bulbs that are pure white not the blue end ones - attract lesss uinwanted attention from the rozzers ! As to the light "colours" not matching the parkers etc - who cares - you don;t hav to look at it from inside !
