Door Hinge Phillips Head Screws

I need to change the door hinges due to excessive wear on the hinge pins....

Can somebody please tell me

do the hinge mount Phillips head screws which go into the "A" pillar have captive nuts within the pillar?

or

if I undo Phillips head screw do I lose the nut off the other side into the door pillar?

or

will the nuts just spin with the Phillips head screw?

IIR correctly: a. It's nigh on impossible to undo them, or even crack them, from the outside, and b. The nuts are not captive, unless you count siezed up by rust, lastly c. Take the opportunity to nip up the mirror mount screws when the top hinge is off.

Sorry, post in haste, repent at liesure....

Last post refers to door side of hinge.

Pillar side, definitely captive nuts, probably rusted, plenty of lube and out they should come.

Nute on the ones on the door, the pillar is held captive, I find a big flathead in the phillips is far better to undo them with;)

You may need an impact driver.

You should find square nuts held in a kind of bracket that slides onto the outside skin of the a pillar. I used a large Phillips screw driver that I could also turn with a spanner.

In cases like this it would be nice to see a followup post to let us know how the problem worked out, especially after posting to ask for help. Then other people with a similar problem have a better idea how to approach it.
