Is there anyone around Freo or the Swan Valley who might be up for a drink next week?
My wife (aka Bucko's Ma) and I will be in Freo for a couple of days from Monday 2nd to 5th, leaving 5th AM for Swan Valley. We'll be using that as a base to tour for a few days before departing back to Perth and home on 10th.
We will be meeting up with some of the riders from the Mild Cogs and Two Wheels forums.

Ron,
Are you flying across or travelling by train.
If you're training it, happy to meet you in Kal and give you a quick cooks tour of the sights - the train usually spends a while in Kal and most people get off for a quick bus tour around the city.

Thank you for the offer, BM. We are flying this time.
We went by train last time (last year). We took our car that time as we were on hols for a 6 weeks but this time we are hiring a car.
Now I'm retired, I don't get holidays anymore. :(

We are entirely flexible. We are meetoing with some motorbike forum people (not many) at our apartment on Friday evening. I wonder if that would suit some?
We can do some nibblies if you BYOG.
I noticed the cafe at The Vines does a roast dinner on Sundays at $21 per head between noon and 2.30pm.
We don't have internet access at the hotel except at horrendous rates so I had to come into Maccas at Ellensbrook (?) to send this.
If there is interest in that, I'd need to know in advance so we can prepare and also send directions to our apartment.

From their menu:
Traditional Roast Buffet Lunch
Enjoy roast beef and gravy with Yorkshire pudding, roasted potatoes, roasted pumpkin, sweet potato, carrots, peas, and beans and freshly baked bread rolls.
Even if you lot don't come, we're having it!
So I take it you'll be here Sunday, not tonight - and tonight will be motorcyclists only.

I'm told the Avon Descent is on Sunday and the Swan Valley will be busy.
I've asked at The Vines Cafe at the resort if I can reserve tables but they don't do reservations.
If we should meet eleswhere, we are OK to travel.
If we are meeting here, I don't know if we'll get tables. They don't mind if we shift tables together. Anyway. I've told them we expect about 10 people.
Is that correct or will there be more?

Location:
Maybe meet at our apartment 305 (ground floor) at 79 Hermitage Drive, The Vines. Take the road to the hotel rear car park (Ellen Brook Dr) then turn left onto Hermitage. The Apartments are the first (grey) double storey buildings on the left.
Go around to the back on the RHS and you'll find us on the patio.
You might be able to park in the hotel carpark next to our apartment - hopefully the carpark won't be full.
Watch out for kangaroos on the road.

The parkingn area at he rear of the hotel is emptying so we should be OK.
Take the right hand turn into Ellenrrook Drive, then left into Hermitage (almost at the end of Ellenbrook). Continue along until you come to grey/white 2-storey apartments on the left. Immediately past them is the entry to the hotel rear car park.
Look up to your left and our apartment is the last one on the ground floor (the one with the larger table). Go to the patio and knock on our glass door if we aren't already outside.

Thanks Andrew, unfortunately the owner was a stranger on the dog beach and both her dogs were unleashed, the main attacker ran from about 100 metres away flat out from behind and it was only the owners cries that alerted SWMBO to the danger but too late. She didn't get any name as she was too stressed and bleeding as was our little mutt and just wanted to get away as far from the dogs as possible.
