3 inch lift

hi all just wondering if anyone has used pro comp shocks before and how they found them. I have heard that they are soft, but that doesnt worrie me that can only be good for flex. If anyone has actually used them or know someone that has and has had either good or bad comments let me know.

They seem to work OK in the rear but are **** in the front if you have rough country like I do. Cant wait to get rid of them:mad: Mine are like a single acting shock in the front. Would work OK with OX cart springs;)

The only reason I ask is that it is so damn expensive in this country for anything so a carefull look to the uk and bingo we have a winner.:) A complete 3 inch lift kit including bump stops, brake lines, springs, shocks, shock boots etc etc etc. Delivered to my door in Perth for a little over $600.:D Thats about $350 better than any quote minus delivery for a 2 inch lift here in aus.:mad:

to run a 3" inch you really need castor arms, adj panard, dc prop, cranked rear arms etc.....

I have never run procomp.

please tell me how "soft" shocks flex better?

flex will be determind by spring rate, link bushes, link geometry and shock set up.

I have really no tech on shocks so am curious to this statement. Bush65 and Tdi-rick are among some here that have good shock knowledge.

I had a 2" spring lift and 2" body lift for 4" total on my D1 that used EFS springs all round, EFS shocks up front and long travel Pro-comps up back (27.5" I think). This was the best suspension set up I have had. It flexed really well and I could leave the rear sway bar off - I tried the vehicle (we live in the hills) with and without the sway bar around the twisty hills roads and there was very little difference in handling including body roll.
